Two months ago three Honor 30 smartphones debuted
, the mightiest of them called Honor 30 Pro+. And it’s exactly that one that we now have in our hands ready to be put through our review routine.
Honor 30 Pro+
Coming in the Titanium Silver color, our Honor 30 Pro+ polarized opinions in our office. Not so much the color itself, but the huge letters make this a love it or hate it affair. It’s definitely standing out in the crowd, thought – there are no two ways about it.
The retail package includes a transparent case, which is exactly what you want if you are among those loving the design, or a total waste of plastic if you are in the other camp.
The 30 Pro+ brings several key improvements over the Honor 30 Pro. We have a 50MP 1/1.28 camera sensor with omnidirectional PDAF and f/1.9 lens, 27W wireless charging and 90Hz refresh rate for the 6.57 display
For some reason there is a sharper-than-expected transition between the glass-protected front and back and the aluminum frame, but that might come off as a good thing as it makes the Honor 30 Pro+ far less slippery.
Unsurprisingly, the Honor 30 Pro+ has no Google services, as is becoming the norm with Huawei smartphones. You still get a Kirin 990 5G chipset and Magic UI 3.0 interface, based on Android 10 complete with the company’s HMS altenatives.
The 50MP main camera is the obvious highlight, but the 8 MP periscope telephoto shooter with 5x optical zoom is also worth examining in great detail. Well give our best, as always, and will be back with the full review soon.
