We were expecting HTC to announce the Desire 20 Pro and so it did but alongside it we got the U20 5G – a 5G midranger running on the Snapdragon 765G. Both phones come with quad-camera setups, 5,000 mAh batteries and will be initially limited to Taiwan with no word on pricing and global availability yet.
HTC U20 5G
The U20 5G comes as the latest midrange offering in HTCs lineup and the company’s first phone to boast 5G connectivity. Its built around a 6.8-inch FHD+ LCD with a punch-hole cutout for the 32MP selfie cam. It also boasts a 20:9 aspect ratio.
Going around the back we find the fingerprint reader next to the 48MP main shooter, 8MP ultrawide snapper and two 2MP sensors – one for macro shots and another for depth data.
Under the hood, the Snapdragon 765G is paired with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage which is expandable via the microSD slot.
There is a beefy 5,000 mAh battery with 18W wired charging through the large cell has its drawbacks as the device weighs in at a hefty 215 grams. The phone boots Android 10 and also packs NFC, a headphone jack and dual-frequency GPS.
HTC Desire 20 Pro
The Desire 20 Pro is the lower standing phone is HTCs new duo. It packs a 6.5″ FHD+ LCD with a 25MP selfie camera and a 19.5:9 aspect ratio. Jumping to the back we find the exact same quad setup from the U20 5G. The fingerprint scanner is also placed on the back which features a nice gradient design.
The phone runs on the Snapdragon 665 SoC alongside 6GB RAM and 128GB storage which is also expandable via microSD slot. The battery comes in at 5,000 mAh and offers 18W charging speeds. It also boots Android 10 and comes with NFC, a 3.5 audio jack and dual-band Wi-Fi.
