Realme announces new product strategy as it aims to bring more AIoT and lifestyle products

Realme debuted as a smartphone brand back in May 2018 with Realme 1 and has launched dozens of smartphones across different markets since. But the company hasn’t restricted itself to smartphones and expanded its product portfolio with the launch of TWS earphones last year and its first fitness band, smartwatch, and smart TV recently.

As a part of Realme’s long-term vision, the company’s Indian CEO Madhav Sheth today announced Realme’s new product strategy – 1+4+N – meaning 1 Core product, 4 Smart Hubs, and N AIoT products.

Being a smartphone brand, Realme has smartphones at the core of its product portfolio and that’s something a Realme employee recently told us will not change anytime soon. Realme will continue to have smartphones at the core and together with the Realme Link app, they will be used to manage the company’s current and future AIoT products.

Smart Hub includes four product categories – Smart TV, Smart Watch, Smart Earphones, and Smart Speaker. The Smart Speaker is yet to be announced but Sheth said the company will unveil one very soon along with stylish smartwatches, high-end TVs, and smarter headphones.

Moving on to the N AIoT products, Realme says ‘N’ refers to its commitment to bringing new AIoT and lifestyle products, which includes car chargers, smart locks, smart plugs, smart scale and more. The company has shared an image that gives us a better idea of its 1+4+N product strategy. You can check it out below.

Realme’s 1+4+N strategy is similar to Huawei’s 1+8+N strategy, meaning one smartphone, eight connected devices and third-party IoT products.

In addition to introducing the company’s new product strategy, Madhav Sheth announced the Realme Adventurer Backpack which will be launched on June 25 alongside the Realme X3 series in India.

Moreover, Sheth also talked about the company’s plans to increase the local workforce strength in India to 10,000 by the end of this year and expanding distribution channels to Tier 4 and Tier 5 towns of the country by hiring more than 5,000 sales team members.

Besides, to support the “Make in India” initiative, Realme is investing in a production line to build TV products and TV motherboards locally. Once the setup is complete, Realme’s recently launched 32″ and 43″ TVs as well as the future smart TVs will be made in India.
