Welcome to your week’s recap. The past seven days brought us the Poco F2 Pro, the triumphant return of no-nonsense flagship phone. Based on the Redmi K30 Pro, the Poco F2 Pro is the cheapest Snapdragon 865 phone in just about every market, starting at just $500/500 for a 6/128GB model. Pre-orders are now live, shipments begin on May 19.
A huge iPhone 12 leak showed what Apple’s upcoming lineup will look like, thanks to renders based on CAD schematics. The iPhone 12 and 12 Pro will adopt an iPad Pro-like design with flat sides and squarish edges. The iPhone 12 Pro will come in three sizes – 5.4-inch (which will be about the size of a 4.7-inch iPhone SE 2020), a 6.1-inch and a 6.7-inch. All three will use OLED panel and at least the 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch are expected to have faster 120Hz ProMotion refresh rate and smaller notches. The Pro iPhones will also get exclusive LiDAR and 3x telephoto cameras. The main camera is expected to stay 12MP, but Apple will increase the sensor size.
We also got a big Google Pixel 4a leak. The phone was benchmarked, its battery was testedtoo. The Snapdragon 730 posted expected scores in AnTuTu and Geekbench and didn’t have issues with modern games. Impressively the Pixel 4a’s 3,080mAh battery managed to achieve up to 7 hours of screen on time.
The next big story is about the Nokia 9.3 PureView. It’s expected to use its 108MP camera to record 8K video. The Nokia 9.3 PureView will also be capable of “ZEISS effects” and have Pro and Night mode shooting.
It turns out the OnePlus 8 Pro’s custom 5MP sensor designed for IR and color filter images can see under certain fabrics. Because the camera lacks an IR filter, it can, under specific conditions, see through specific fabrics.

Realme will start selling Narzo 10 in That White and That Green on May 18 at noon local time for INR11,999 ($158/146). The Narzo 10A, available in So Blue or So White, will cost INR8,499 ($112/104) and will arrive for its first sale on May 22.
The US has extended its restrictions on US companies to work with Huawei for another year. This means Huawei is unlikely to regain access to Google Mobile Services and by extension apps like the Play Store, YouTube, Gmail and Maps at least until May of 2021. Huawei is working tirelessly to expand its Huawei Mobile Services support and create a worthy alternative.
Qualcomm unveiled the Snapdragon 768G, which is an overclocked variant of the popular Snapdragon 765G, sharing all of its internals, including the X52 5G modem.
Samsung unveiled the Galaxy A Quantum, which is a special version of the Galaxy A71 with a quantum cryptography aiming to offer unparalleled security. It’s a phone that is going to be selling in Samsung’s home market of South Korea.
We heard two reports last week about the Samsung Galaxy Note20 and Note20+’ displays. One stated that both would be 120Hz but the latter one claimed only the Galaxy Note20+ will have a 120Hz, while the Note20 will get a 60Hz panel. And there’s not going to be a Galaxy Note20 Ultra.
